As the canonical trial against Father John Mary for the charge of schism nears its conclusion, we at the Mission of Divine Mercy (MDM) want to reach out to all those feeling concerned about these matters, and especially those who are troubled or confused by our actions. This has been a very painful situation for us and for others as well, especially our friends, both those who do and those who do not believe in the Messages. With that in mind, we wanted to reiterate some key points previously made in earlier statements.
We believe in and consider ourselves loyal sons and daughters of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, and have no intention of leaving it or causing schism. We believe in the Deposit of Faith as contained in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, and transmitted and guarded by the Magisterium of the Church. We have always sought to be obedient to the legitimate hierarchical authority of the Church, instituted by Jesus, to teach, govern and sanctify the Church. We submit to the authority of St. Peter and all his legitimate successors as Pope and Supreme Pastor of the Universal Church. We recognize Gustavo Garcia-Siller as the legitimate archbishop of our archdiocese.
But we also believe that God has revealed to us that “the Church is in a grave and unprecedented crisis and that both Francis and Leo are usurpers.” We must, above all, submit to God Who we believe is giving us prophetic direction to respond to this crisis. Obedience to God comes first.
We would never want to be disobedient to God or to the just commands of the pastors of His Church, and we continue to seek to obey the legitimate authority of the Church that does not conflict with obedience to God. If some have perceived some of our actions as disobedient, particularly those centered around the public sharing of what we believed to be prophetic Messages from the Lord, we regret that perception and the confusion it’s caused. We can only say in all sincerity and in good conscience that we firmly believe such actions were necessary in obedience to God—that God Himself is asking us to share these Messages, and again that His commands must take precedence over all others. We are trying, as best we understand, to be faithful to His call. No other reason could have convinced us to put ourselves in such a drastic and painful situation.
We know that many do not believe in these Messages, including very close friends, and we understand and respect their position. We know many believe we are sowing division and confusion in the Church. We regret that perception. It is not our intention. We desire to remain in full communion with all sincere and faithful Catholics, including those who don’t believe in our Messages or who otherwise disagree with our actions. And we are not trying to pressure anyone to follow or support us. We are simply trying to be faithful to what we believe God is asking of us.
As before, we ask for your prayers. If we are wrong, to bring us back to the truth. If we are right, to have the strength to be faithful.
Faith, so that God can act.
Jesus, we trust in You.
