MONASTERY • SANCTUARY • RETREAT CENTER

We are Mission of Divine Mercy (MDM), a small Catholic religious community.
The focus of our apostolates is the Person of Jesus and His Eucharistic Presence; and the hope that His Mercy gives. This is the essence of what we hope to share with others.
Mission of Divine Mercy is also the name of the place where we live and carry out our ministry. It is located in the rural hill country, halfway between San Antonio and Austin. Most people just refer to our center as “the Mission.”
“Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to My mercy.”

The Mission serves three functions:
Monastery
The Mission is home to our MDM community which is comprised of priests, religious sisters and brothers, and consecrated laymen and laywomen. We are a semi-contemplative community and invite the public to join us for Mass, Eucharistic Adoration and other prayer times.
Sanctuary
The Mission seeks to be a sanctuary of God’s Mercy by providing a peaceful, natural setting where people can come on their own to spend quiet time drawing closer to Our Lord. One way of doing this is by taking “A Walk with Jesus and Mary,” a self-guided pilgrimage using various prayer sites at the Mission.
Retreat Center
Retreats are the prominent feature of our apostolate. We offer a slate of MDM organized retreats in English and Spanish, such as our Saturday Morning Reflections, and most notably, the four-day Encounter With Jesus silent retreat. Regrettably, we are not structured for individual overnight retreats.

You are warmly invited to the Mission!
In our current culture, almost anything goes. But the Mission is different. It is consecrated to Jesus and Mary. Experiencing the Mission begins with respecting Them, the people around you, and yourself. This includes how we dress.
